As we’ve seen this past year, COVID-19 has illuminated health disparities and exacerbated inequities across the U.S., and nurses, the largest and most trusted members of the health workforce, are still on the frontlines battling this pandemic.

The National Academy of Medicine will release The Future of Nursing 2020-2030: Charting a Path to Health Equity and discuss findings and recommendations during a webinar on Tuesday, May 11, 2021, at 3:00 pm ET. Register for the webinar

Nurses play a key role in the health of Americans. Tapping into their unique combination of skills, knowledge, and dedication constitutes an important opportunity to address health inequities and improve health and well-being for all. This long-awaited report will explore how nurses can work over the next decade to reduce health disparities and promote equity, while keeping costs at bay, utilizing technology, and maintaining patient and family-focused care.

AAACN is honored to be one of the few nursing organizations selected to provide invited comments at a Future of Nursing Town Hall in 2019, and now to assist in disseminating this important report. AAACN members are KEY to the success of the report and its implementation and AAACN looks forward to reviewing and responding to the recommendations.
