AAACN Member Receives National Award
Anabel Quintanar was recently recognized as the recipient of the 2018 VA Secretary’s Awards for Excellence in Nursing and Advancement of Nursing Programs in the Registered Nurse staff role. This is considered the highest award for nursing within the VA.
“AAACN has been instrumental in helping me obtain this award,” Quintanar said. “I joined AAACN about 4 years ago, got involved right away, and have seen my leadership and nursing skills grow so much. Being a participant in the VA SIG has helped tremendously as well. As an ambulatory care nurse, it is an honor to have been selected.”

Introducing the CCTM SIG
The new Care Coordination and Transition Management (CCTM) SIG made its debut at the recent AAACN 2018 Conference. The SIG, which will be led by inaugural Chair Misty Landor, and Chair-Elect Diane Davis, was created by the CCTM Toolkit Task Force members who recognized a need for more CCTM collaboration among nurses. The SIG will update the upcoming online toolkit regularly to keep AAACN members informed on the latest evidence-based tools, research, and knowledge.
