Apply to the Publications Committee
The AAACN Publications Committee plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of ambulatory care nursing through its oversight and strategic guidance of AAACN publications. By contributing to the creation and refinement of these resources, the committee helps advance the professional growth of ambulatory care nurses. AAACN is currently seeking new Publication Committee members to help shape the future of our publications and contribute to the growth of our profession.
(Please note that for the sake of this committee, “publications” refers to AAACN’s written educational materials such as the Core Curriculum for Ambulatory Care Nursing; this committee does not have involvement with ViewPoint or the Journal of Ambulatory Care Nursing.)
As a committee member, you'll play a key role in:
- Overseeing publication timelines
- Recommending authors and writing groups
- Monitoring production progress
- Proposing new publications to the Board
Publications Committee members also work with writing and revision task forces in an advisory capacity, overseeing progress and serving as a liaison between the writing group and the committee. You won’t be responsible for writing, but prior experience as an author or in a writing group is preferred. Additionally, knowledge of and/or experience with AAACN resources is a plus (electronic copies will be provided to committee members for evaluation purposes).
This committee meets monthly via Zoom. Members spend 1-4 hours per month on committee work.
We are looking for additional AAACN members to serve on this committee who:
- Are interested in contributing to the creation and refinement of AAACN resources
- Have the leadership and organization skills to oversee writing task forces in an advisory capacity
- Offer valuable insights and evaluations on existing resources or the need for new ones to best serve AAACN members, align with our strategic plan, and support ambulatory care nurses.
- Ideally, have knowledge of and/or experience with AAACN resources
- Can commit the time to this committee’s work
