As you may know, AAACN collaborated with the Medical-Surgical Nursing Certification Board (MSNCB) to create the Certified in Care Coordination and Transition Management (CCCTM) certification program that launched in 2015. AAACN supports the CCCTM credential and provides the certification preparation resources for the exam. In August 2019, new applications for the CCCTM certification program were suspended while MSNCB evaluated the future of the program.

We are pleased to share an update with you today.

The MSNCB Board of Directors will be transferring the CCCTM certification program to the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) effective October 31, 2020. As of October 31, 2020, ANCC will be responsible for all activities related to CCCTM certification renewal and will evaluate options for re-introducing initial exam testing.

MSNCB and ANCC are working together to make the transition of this program as seamless as possible for all individuals who hold the CCCTM credential.

If you are currently CCCTM certified, please continue to use your credential as you currently do. You will receive separate communication directly from MSNCB regarding how to maintain your credential through certification renewal only.

If your CCCTM certification expires on or before October 31, 2020, you may renew by contact hours through MSNCB here.

If your CCCTM certification expires after October 31, 2020, please contact ANCC at certification@ana.org for more information about how to renew your certification through ANCC.

If you have questions about the CCCTM certification program, please email certification@amsn.org or call 866-877-2676.

Stay tuned for new task force volunteer opportunities soon. The organization is committed to CCTM practice and being the leader in growing and supporting this critical nursing role, our members, and all of those who have invested in CCTM.
